HVAC
Maintenance and changeouts do not share a timesheet line.
HVAC shops lose hours when a tune-up and an install get written on the same scrap of paper. Contractor Revolution puts each one on its own work order.
The problem
- A tune-up and a changeout get written on the same line, and the install hours never get billed.
- Friday starts with calls to the techs because the timesheets are still in the van.
- The office cannot tell which job is done and which one is waiting on a part.
- PTO in the busy season is a text, and payroll misses it or pays it twice.
- The software on the phone was built for a different shop's process and logo.
- The office re-keys the day into the invoice after the tech has already left.
The solution
- Every hour is tracked against its own work order and billed. Maintenance and a changeout do not share a line.
- Payroll takes 15 minutes or less. The weekly summary is the packet.
- Time, PTO, and work orders all come from the phone, so the status is not in a text.
- PTO is requested in hours and shows on the same weekly summary as the worked hours.
- Your instance is branded with your own logo and colors, and setup follows how you already run work.
- Billing reports are ready to invoice. Finished work stays on the list until it is billed.
What gets a work order
A maintenance visit gets a work order with the address and the tech. A changeout gets a different work order, often with a lead and a helper. Both people log hours from the phone against the order they were on. The office sees the split before Friday.
If the install runs into the next day, the hours stay on that work order. They do not have to be copied into a spreadsheet so the bill can be written later. When the job is done, it sits on the billing list until it is billed.
The week still has to close
The weekly summary is the payroll packet: regular hours, overtime, leave, and the total. PTO requests sit with the hour balance, not in a text thread. The product claim on payroll is simple: a closed week takes 15 minutes or less, because the hours are already on the people.
What we will not pretend to be
Contractor Revolution is not a load-calculation tool, a flat-rate book, or a call board. It will not text the customer that the tech is on the way. If that is the hole in the shop, this is the wrong product. If the hole is hours, PTO, work orders, and unbilled work, this is the product.
Your shop gets its own instance, with your logo and your colors. Pricing is by headcount.
Questions
Can maintenance and a changeout share one work order?
You can, but you should not. Separate work orders keep the hours, the crew, and the bill on the right job.
Does Contractor Revolution include a flat-rate price book?
No. It does not sell a price book, dispatch board, or payment processing. It tracks hours, PTO, work orders, and which finished jobs still need a bill.
How does PTO work in a busy season?
Techs request hours from the phone. The office approves them. Approved leave shows on the weekly summary with the worked hours, so payroll is not a second conversation.
